Do You Feel Too Consumed By Fear To Live The Life You Want?

Is anxiety getting in the way of your best life? Do you want to reach out for help, but your anxiety makes you scared to do so? Are you afraid that other people will judge you if you’re honest about your struggles?
Maybe you feel consumed by fear and unable to make decisions without second-guessing yourself. Every time you’re about to seize on new chances for growth, anxiety rears its ugly head and tells you that you won’t succeed. Perhaps you’re dealing with social anxiety and you’re afraid of what others think of you. You may turn down outings with friends and keep to yourself a lot. Maybe you ask yourself: Why can’t my life be like everyone else’s? Why can’t I just loosen up and stop being so fearful all the time?
The Very idea Of Seeking Treatment May Give You Anxiety
Part of the problem with anxiety is that it often makes you scared to seek help. As much as you want to reach out to others, your fear of judgment may hold you back. The thought that people will see you as someone who doesn’t have their life together makes you recoil and keep your struggles to yourself. Even therapy itself can seem intimidating. You may fear that going to therapy would mean being put on anti-anxiety medication.

Anxiety Is The Norm In Our Fast-Paced, Workaholic Society

It’s no secret that anxiety is the most common mental health issue in the world. Millions of people struggle with an anxiety disorder, yet the numbers don’t do it justice. After all, many people with anxiety suffer in silence because they are afraid of being judged or seen as weak.
Why is everyone so anxious today? We live in a fast-paced, workaholic culture that teaches us to go, go, and go. Many of us have little time for relaxation. And even when we do have time, we’re so used to being busy that we don’t know how to relax. We feel guilty, as if we should be doing something instead of slowing down and reflecting on life. This creates a perpetual cycle of overworking ourselves till we’re stressed.
Many People With Anxiety Turn To Coping Habits That Don’t Actually Help
Oftentimes, people with anxiety try to cope with their symptoms through drinking, drugs, and other dependencies. These habits may provide momentary relief, but they usually make anxiety worse in the long run. After all, having an addiction just means one more thing to be stressed about. It adds to anxiety sufferers’ laundry list of woes and can impact their careers, finances, academics, and every area of their life.
Through anxiety counseling, you can look beyond temporary quick fixes and experience lasting peace in your life. No matter how impossible it seems, we are confident that we can help you manage your stress levels and grow into a more confident and empowered version of yourself.
Anxiety Treatment Is The First Step Toward Taking Back Control Of Your Life

When you’re living with anxiety, it’s hard to relax without feeling guilty. Therapy can help you let go of guilt and shame and embrace self-care. We will give you a safe space to express your fears and explore your stressors without any fear of judgment. This is a time to step away from all of life’s demands and just be yourself rather than who society wants you to be.
What To Expect In Sessions
Our approach is comprehensive and uses both psychiatry and counseling to address anxiety. Your therapist will help you get to the root of your anxiety and teach you new coping skills for managing it. Your psychiatrist will help you understand your symptoms, develop healthier habits, and explore any medical solutions for anxiety (medication is entirely optional, though). This dual approach will help you make connections between your physical and emotional health.
For example, vitamin deficiencies and eating habits can often exacerbate and contribute to stress. However, merely talking to a therapist usually doesn’t touch on this fact. That’s the value of having a two-sided approach. Combining mental health counseling with medical treatment can help you combat anxiety from multiple angles at once.
Tailoring Your Treatment Plan
As we work together, we will help you identify your triggers and stressors and understand where they came from. Oftentimes, anxiety is linked to past traumas that your brain hasn’t fully healed from. For instance, if you grew up in a house where there was lots of yelling and verbal abuse, someone raising their voice may make you feel unsafe or cause a panic attack. Anxiety treatment is a chance learn how these stressors arose and use that knowledge to develop new coping skills.
Although anxiety treatment looks different for everyone, we often utilize mindfulness strategies like meditation and deep breathing to help you stay grounded if you’re stressed or feel a panic attack coming on. These skills can help you slow down and resist the urge to overwork yourself. After all, if you’re used to putting yourself in busy environments 24/7, you may have trouble saying no to more responsibilities. Anxiety therapy is a chance to relearn the art of relaxation and break out of the unhealthy patterns that keep you overwhelmed.
By addressing anxiety from both a psychiatric and therapeutic standpoint, we believe that we can help you find relief from your symptoms. Whether you or your child suffer from anxiety, treatment is the first step toward taking back control of your life and embracing a happier future.
You May Have Some Questions And Concerns About Anxiety Treatment…
Will I have to go on medication?
No, you don’t have to go on medication. We may recommend it, but you have control over the treatment process and we’ll never do anything that you’re not comfortable with. You and your psychiatrist can explore the question of medication together and go over your fears and concerns. For what it’s worth, most anti-anxiety meds are not addictive and have minimal side effects. We will make sure to educate you as much as possible on any medication that you decide to take.
I don’t want to talk. I just want to go on medication.
Although medication is often helpful, it doesn’t get to the root of anxiety or equip you with new coping skills. That’s why therapy is so important. If you’re hesitant to talk about anxiety, we understand—the idea of telling someone about your struggles can be stress-inducing. That’s why we want to go at your own pace. Your therapist will respect your comfort level and let you open up when you are ready to.
I’m worried that seeing a therapist will affect my social life or my ability to get a job.
Our sessions are 100-percent confidential. No one else has to know that you’re in therapy. Seeing a counselor will not affect your ability to get a job or stay at one. And in case you’re worried about what the people in your life will think, it’s important to remember that the stigma surrounding therapy is rapidly waning. There is greater awareness around mental health today than there’s even been.
